Promotion Partners¶
Punchcard pays commission to people who send us customers. If you have an audience of independent professionals who sell prepaid sessions, you can earn a share of every subscription you bring in — for as long as they keep paying, up to a year.
Not open yet
The programme is not live. The terms below are being reviewed by a lawyer and we are not signing anyone up until that is done. If it sounds like a fit, tell us and we will get in touch when it opens — nothing on this page is a promise until then.
Who this suits¶
Anyone with a following among people who track prepaid sessions with clients:
- Personal trainers and fitness coaches
- Private tutors and language teachers
- Massage therapists and physiotherapists
- Music and dance teachers
- Driving instructors
- Dog trainers and behaviourists
- Anyone running a community, newsletter, YouTube channel or course aimed at the above
You do not need a huge following. A single post in an active Facebook group of self-employed tutors can be worth more than a video with a hundred thousand uninterested views.
What you earn¶
30% of net revenue, for the first 12 months a customer pays.
"Net revenue" means what actually reaches us after tax and payment processing fees — not the sticker price. On the €12.99 Pro plan that works out at roughly €3.30 per month per customer, or about €40 over the year.
It compounds. Twenty customers referred in your first month keep paying you while you go and find the next twenty.
Why net rather than gross
Payments run through Paddle, who handle VAT for every country we sell in. A percentage of the gross would mean paying you a share of tax we never received. Paying on net means what you earn tracks what we actually earn.
How we know a customer came from you¶
Two ways, and you do not have to choose:
Your link. You get a URL like punchcard.online/?ref=yourname. Anyone who
clicks it and signs up within 90 days is credited to you.
Your discount code. You also get a code that gives your audience a discount at checkout. Anyone who enters it is credited to you even if they never clicked your link — different device, ad blocker, or they just heard about it from you in person.
Note the discount reduces what we receive, so it reduces your commission too — you are both sharing the cost of the offer. A 20% discount lowers your commission by roughly the same proportion.
The code is the more reliable of the two, and it gives your audience a reason to act. Use both.
No tracking cookies
We do not set a tracking cookie, and our marketing site sets no cookies at all. Your code identifies you, not the visitor, and it is recorded on our servers rather than in their browser. That is why Punchcard has never needed a cookie banner, and we would like to keep it that way.
Your dashboard¶
You get a private link to a page showing your signups, how many subscribed, and what you have earned — broken down by month. No login.
For privacy reasons the dashboard shows totals only. We never tell you who signed up, and we round earnings to the month: with small numbers, a precise date would identify a person. This is not us being awkward — those are other people's customer relationships, and they did not agree to be listed for you.
Getting paid¶
- Commission is held for 45 days before it becomes payable, so refunds and chargebacks have time to settle.
- We pay out once your balance passes €40 — about one referred customer's full first year. Below that it rolls over.
- Payment runs happen twice a year, in January and July.
- You invoice us; we pay by bank transfer. If the partnership ends, we settle whatever is left regardless of the amount.
- If a customer you referred refunds or charges back, that commission is reversed. It nets off your next statement.
What we need from you¶
You must be a registered business. A KVK number, an EU VAT identification number, or an equivalent company registration outside the EU. We cannot pay individuals — it pulls both of us into reporting obligations neither of us wants, and it is the one rule we do not make exceptions to.
If you are not registered yet and you are in the Netherlands, registering with the KVK is quick and inexpensive. Come back once you have.
The rules¶
The full terms are on the Promotion Partner Terms page. The short version:
Always disclose. Every post that carries your link or code must say you earn a commission, in the first sentence, visible without anyone clicking "more". On Stories, on every Story. This is a legal requirement, not a preference, and we are liable alongside you if it is missing.
Promote to your own audience, in your own name. Blog posts, videos, newsletters, community posts, talks. That is the whole model.
No cold outreach. Ever. No cold email, no bulk LinkedIn messages, no SMS, no cold calls. Unsolicited commercial messages are unlawful in the Netherlands — including business-to-business, which surprises people — and the regulator holds us responsible for what our partners send. One complaint can cost us far more than the programme earns.
No brand bidding. Do not bid on "Punchcard" or variants in paid search, and do not register lookalike domains.
Only claims from our own pages. Pricing, features, trial terms — take them from punchcard.online or these docs. If you are unsure whether something is accurate, ask.
No self-referral. You cannot use your own code for your own account. The system blocks it anyway.
Applying¶
Email hello@punchcard.online with:
- Where you would promote Punchcard, with links to your channels
- Your business name and KVK or VAT number
- Roughly who your audience is
We approve partners and their channels manually before anything goes live, and we do read what gets posted. That is partly diligence and partly because we are on the hook for it too.
