Punchcard¶
Punchcard is a minimalist digital punchcard for personal trainers, private tutors, teachers and basically anyone who's working with clients in a one on one method. You prepay clients in session blocks and check them in after each session — no spreadsheets, no paper cards, no client login required.
Punchcard is a hosted software product (SaaS) — you sign up, use it in your browser or as an installable app, and your data lives with us. It's payment-agnostic: sessions can be paid for by cash, bank transfer, or any method you already use — Punchcard just tracks the balance.
Getting started¶
Sign-in is passwordless. Go to the login page, enter your email, and click the magic link we send you — no password to set or remember. Your trainer account is created automatically on your first login.
On first login you'll be guided through a short setup wizard:
- Profile — your name and an optional role/title (e.g. "Personal Trainer"), shown on your clients' public pages.
- Add your first client — a name and their starting session balance. You can skip this and add clients later from the Dashboard.
- Passkey setup (optional) — register a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or your device's biometric unlock) for faster, passwordless sign-in next time. Skipped automatically if your device/browser doesn't support it.
- Install as an app (optional) — step-by-step instructions to add Punchcard to your home screen as an installable app (PWA), tailored to your browser.
After setup, you land on your Dashboard.
How it works¶
- You're the only account. Trainers sign in; clients never create an account or log in.
- Clients get a private link. Each client has a unique, unguessable URL (
/c/:token) you share with them — see Client Public View. Opening that link shows their balance and history, read-only. - Updates are instant. Both your dashboard and the client's shared page update live the moment you check someone in or add sessions — no refresh needed.
- It's installable. Punchcard is a Progressive Web App: add it to your home screen and it behaves like a native app, with offline caching for the app shell.
Where to go next¶
- Dashboard — your client list, search, and adding new clients
- Client Page — checking clients in, adding sessions, and sharing their link
- Client Public View — what your client sees when they open their link
- History — a searchable log of every session across all clients
- Trainer Settings — your profile, login, and plan
